I didn't hear about Joe Kubert's passing til recently. I loved his work. The mark he left on this world will not only be seen, it will be felt through the emotion he put into that work and through those he so generously gave his time to teach, for generations to come. He will always be the standard to which artists in the industry will be measured.

Thank you for your kind words. We really appreciate it. Yes, Joe is missed by us all -- but, he does live on through his work and his students.

Hello, thanks for taking the time to look at this message. Well im very interested in your school and im thinking of transferring form my current college to attend the Kubert school. But my only concern is that I am primarily a manga artist. I am just wondering if attending this school will help me to achieve my goal of becoming a manga artist, or is this school only advantageous to western style artist?

Thanks in advance for any response you may give. ^.^

Hi, all styles (including manga) are taught at our school. We think if you're seriously considering applying to our school, it might be advantageous for you to come to our next Open House on Sat., April 20, from 1-4 pm. Besides getting a guided tour of our school, there will be faculty demonstrations, Admissions and Financial Aid staff on hand, as well as Adam & Andy Kubert to answer any questions you might have. If you're interested in attending this exciting Open House, more info can be found by clicking on the following link:

I'm sorry for bothering you, but I have some questions. :[ I am a high school student from Indonesia and is very interested to be a comic book artist in the future. Now, first;

-Will I get some kind of diploma if I graduate from here/is it like going to university?

-Do I have to be a high school graduate to try the correspondence course? Would I need to send a portfolio to you?

-If I want to work in DC or Marvel in the future, which type of correspondence course should I get? [The Heroes and Superheroes, Story-Graphics, Supervillains, Pencilling or Inking?]

That might be all. Thank you very much! :)

Hi. In reply to your questions:

1. Since our school doesn't include academic subjects such as math, science, etc., we don't offer academic degrees. Instead, we DO offer instruction to our students so they will be qualified to attain professional jobs in the comic book industry. If you'd like to see the professional job positions that some of our graduates have received, please click on the following link:

2. No, you do not need a high school diploma nor a portfolio to participate in our correspondence courses. There are no requirements to take these courses. In fact, these correspondence courses were SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED to help and encourage students (of all abilities and ages) who have an interest in this form of art. All of the courses start off with the basics and are part and parcel of what it takes to draw cartoons effectively.

3. If you'd like to ultimately work for DC or Marvel, any of our correspondence courses would be beneficial to you. We suggest that you select the course that interests yo the most. Each course contains a wide range of general information, but the main focus is in each course's title.

If you have any further questions, please let us know. Thanks for your interest in our school.

Thank you for your reply. If its not bothering you, I have another question. Will I get a certificate (or something resembling that) after finishing the correspondence course?
Once again, thanks very much. :)
